Closer Look at Our Marine Insulation Solutions Featured in Luxury Yachts at SCIBS 2026

Our team recently attended the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2026 in Hope Island, Queensland, one of the Southern Hemisphere's leading marine industry events. The show provided a valuable opportunity to see the latest developments in yacht design, engineering, and marine technology while connecting with industry professionals.

One of the highlights of the event was seeing several completed luxury yachts featuring our bespoke marine acoustic insulation solutions. Within engine room applications, materials included Sorberbarrier AGC, a composite acoustic treatment combining sound absorption and noise barrier properties, and Sorberfoam AGC, an acoustic foam absorber with a fire-retardant aluminium glass cloth facing (AGC). AGC and ALR tapes were used for sealing and finishing acoustic treatments. Vibration control was supported with Decidamp Tiles, a damping treatment for machinery-related noise and vibration, and Decidamp DC30, a specialised constrained-layer damping compound designed to help reduce structural vibration transmission.

Outside the engine rooms, solutions included Subdue, a vibration isolation material, Sylomer, an elastic decoupling material for structural vibration control, Wavebar acoustic barrier for airborne noise reduction and Silentstep Premium, an acoustic underlay for impact sound control. Custom insulation kits designed to meet specific application requirements were also presented.

Together, these products form an integrated acoustic and vibration control system that improves overall vessel performance. The system reduces airborne and structure-borne noise, limits vibration transfer through the vessel, and helps reduce noise transfer from machinery spaces that could affect nearby accommodation areas. This results in a quieter onboard environment, greater comfort for passengers and crew, and better long-term protection in demanding marine conditions.

In addition to its acoustic insulation systems, Pyrotek also provides complementary marine technologies, including engineered silencers and mufflers, as well as custom-manufactured removable thermal covers. These products support a wide range of marine applications, addressing complex noise, vibration, and thermal challenges in both new build and refit projects. Together, they enable integrated system-level solutions that enhance onboard comfort, improve operational efficiency, and support overall vessel performance.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for our sales team to connect with yacht builders, refit specialists, marine engineers, and industry partners from across the marine sector.

For our team, it was particularly valuable to see completed projects in service while discussing upcoming builds, emerging industry requirements, and future opportunities with customers and partners. These conversations provide important insight into the evolving marine market and help us refine our approach to delivering tailored acoustic and insulation solutions, ensuring we continue to support the performance, comfort, and quality standards expected across the sector.

SCIBS 2026 reaffirmed the importance of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the marine industry. Events such as this play a key role in connecting designers, builders, and engineers, while showcasing the advancements shaping the future of marine design and construction. We look forward to continuing to support yacht builders, designers, and marine engineers with tailored acoustic, vibration, and thermal management solutions for future projects.
