Pyrotek Launches Two New Soundproofing Solutions
10th April 2010

Centek Muffler from Pyrotek Noise Control Two new acoustic panel products have been released by leaders in soundproofing technologies, Pyrotek Noise Control.

The products: Reapor and EchoHush; not only offer outstanding soundproofing performance but also provide the architect or designer with aesthetic elements worthy of incorporating into every class of décor from the utilitarian to the opulent.

Reapor - the sound absorber for challenging environments
The first of the two new releases is Reapor. A soundproofing panel made from recycled glass, Reapor is not only superior in its ability to absorb noise energy but also is resistant to damage or deterioration from the elements. As such, it is an outstanding noise control performer outside in the world’s worst weather.

It is non-combustible, making it fire-safe. It is free of chemicals harmful to the environment, and it is recyclable.

Reapor reuses bottle glass in a process that creates glass granules whose controlled porosity gives each granule outstanding acoustic absorption in its own right. A patented process fuses the granules into a homogeneous barrier boasting exceptional absorptive performance acoustically (NRC 0.90 50 mm).

Unlike foams and polymers used for acoustic absorption, the core material of Reapor panels is naturally free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), known to harm the environment. Further, the fusing process dispenses with the need for binders, which are also known to generate VOCs and, in the event of fire, smoke.

Being non-combustible (tested to meet DIN 4102 A1) makes Reapor the soundproofing panel of choice for today’s specifiers facing tougher fire codes, particularly for schools, hospitals, aged care facilities, plant rooms, substations, exit ways, smoking areas, stairwells, airports and railway terminals.

This unique product, which comes in panels up to 625 x 625 x 50, will give long life outdoors and indoors. The rigid, durable material is unaffected by water. It is lightweight, workable with conventional woodworking tools, easy to clean and repair, fibre free and safe to use. Moreover, Reapor is completely recyclable.

Reapor is said to exemplify Pyrotek Noise Control’s commitment to stay ahead of growing community expectations for superior soundproofing products that have zero impact on the environment throughout their life cycle.

Echohush - stuns in beauty and sound quality
Echohush, the second product in the launch breaks new ground in the provision of an acoustic panel product that enables the architect or designer to enhance both a space’s sound quality and its aesthetics.

Echohush invites designers to apply their own creativity through choice of colour and selection of design for Pyrotek to craft into acoustic panels that will fulfil the artistic vision for the spaces being created.

In the new trademarked brand’s two forms: Echohush Profile and Echohush Metro, this customisable aspect makes Echohush a stand-out option for restaurants, public areas, hallways, showrooms, corridors, home theatres, sports halls, kindergartens, lecture theatres, recording studios, office receptions, open plan offices, bars, church halls, science school rooms, cinemas, work areas, call centres, music rooms, nightclubs, practice rooms, public spaces and everywhere controlled sound response is expected from a habitable space.

Echohush Profile panels are cut from combustion-modified acoustic foam before being treated then painted to the specifier’s colour choice.

Echohush Metro comprises timber panels router-milled to offer six design options produced to the specifier’s own unique choice of colour and finish with a framed cavity absorber.

The results are invariably stunning, expressing style through design and colour.

Moreover, the use of Echohush in sports halls and public areas often proves the more durable and robust option.

This is not to forget the primary function of Echohush: to provide, along with the aesthetics, solutions to acoustic problems within a space. Already Pyrotek Noise Control can point to projects in which Echohush in both its main forms has enabled architects, interior designers and acoustic engineers to provide innovative designs enhancing a space’s aesthetic ambience as well as tuning the space’s acoustics to suit its function.
