Offices and Commercial Buildings

One of the first steps in successfully controlling noise problems is ensuring you have selected the correct product. This page shows products commonly used to control noise in offices or commercial buildings. If you require more detailed product information or if you have a noise problem that is not listed, please contact us.

Plant Rooms

Plant rooms can be treated with Sorberbarrier™, a composite product designed to reduce the transmission of noise from the plant room to other areas of the building, and to absorb reflected noise within the room.

Plant rooms with adequate transmission loss should be lined with Sorberfoam™or Sorbertextile™ to control the reverberation noise or "echo" within the room. Both products are available in a range of different foam thicknesses, and facing types.

HEVAC

HEVAC ducts can be lined with Sorberfoam to reduce internal duct noise. Available in a range of different foam thicknesses, facing types, and offering varying levels of fire protection, depending on requirements.

To reduce noise breakout from HEVAC ducts, use Soundlag®, a highly flexible wrap to fit around the smallest duct, and manufactured to meet Building Code requirements.

Ducts can also be lagged with Wavebar®, where a noise barrier only is required.

Waste Pipes

Use Soundlag to reduce noise breakout from waste pipes. Highly flexible to wrap around the smallest pipe, and manufactured to meet Building Code requirements.

Small Machinery Enclosures

Small machinery enclosures can be treated with Sorberbarrier™, a composite product designed to reduce the transmission of noise from the enclosure to other areas of the building, and to absorb reflected noise within the enclosure.

Small machinery enclosures with adequate transmission loss should be lined with Sorberfoam or Sorberpoly to control the reverberation noise or "echo" within the enclosure, both products are available in a range of different foam thicknesses, and facing types.

External Machinery Enclosures

External machinery enclosures can be treated with Sorberbarrier, a composite product designed to reduce the transmission of noise from the enclosure, and to absorb reflected noise within the enclosure. Available in a range of different foam thicknesses, barrier weights and facing typests.

Walls

Use Wavebar to reduce the transmission of noise between adjoining rooms by up-rating the wall structure. Available in different barrier weights to suit requirements.

The Echohush® range of acoustic absorbers combines acoustics and aesthetics, maximising noise energy reduction by absorption, improving acoustics in rooms and enclosed spaces while providing strong visual qualities to suit any decor. Echohush products give audio and voice clarity to highly reflective areas. Echohush Metro is a range of contoured and coloured acoustic foam panel systems and Echohush Profile is an aesthetically pleasing range of acoustic works of art made from both metal and wooden panels.

Ceilings

Up-rate ceilings with Wavebar to increase transmission loss for both internal and external noise sources such as rain and traffic noise, and cross-talk from adjoining rooms.

Floors

Use Silentstep® carpet underlay to reduce the transmission of airborne noise and footfall noise between floors in multi-storey buildings.
